Mademoiselle, Voulez-Vous Danser? collects 22 Franco-American folk songs from the New England borderlands. French, French-Canadian and American influences blend on songs like "Devil's Dream," "Entre Moi" and "Valse Des Pasteraux." Performers like Chanterelle, Les Franco-Americains and Paul Baril also reflect the cultural intermingling of the borderlands, providing a distinctive, diverse musical treat. As with other Smithsonian Folkways releases, Mademoiselle, Voulez-Vous Danser? features the label's attention to detail in its track listing and informative liner notes, written by Clare Pinkert and Theodore Levin. ~ Heather Phares
