Title Note

Hailing from the Long Island, New York, town of Bellmore, the punk-pop act Permanent Me specializes in immediately accessible, hook-laden tunes. On its 2007 debut, AFTER THE ROOM CLEARS, the group skirts emo territory (see the angst-ridden "Christine"), but it also reveals the charming influences of 1970s power-pop and '80s New Wave, as best evinced on the majestic "Until You Leave" and the chiming "Allison," which form the one-two punch that begins the record. An album so impressive that it garnered Permanent Me the opening slot on Fall Out Boy's "Friends or Enemies" tour, AFTER THE ROOM CLEARS certainly bodes well for the young ensemble's future.
