Review

Down Beat (1/96, p.48) - 3 Stars - Good - "...Here, the high-strung horn man sounds relatively relaxed, as though someone had removed the burr from under his saddle....Still, Woods strips the material clean of clich‚s, bringing dry-eyed insight to even the dewiest ballads."
JazzTimes (3/96, p.92) - "...Woods and friends find some fresh dimension in each chart....the band [is] deeply swinging, intuitively responsive to one another. The heart of this musical organism is one of the true masters of the alto saxophone; Woods' timbral palette is as broad as his sense of musical balance..."
