The Big Eye label tackles the slick songcraft of Celine Dion on this passably interesting tribute. As performed by the "Vocal Ballad Community" -- easily one the weirdest titles for the imprint's revolving group of studio musicians -- Dion favorites like "Power of Love," "All by Myself," and "My Heart Will Go On" are mostly stripped of their grandeur. For all of her careerism and idiosyncrasies, Dion is a tremendous singer, and Big Eye's people just don't match up. They do a better job with more pop-oriented material like "That's the Way It Is," but even here, Tribute to Celine Dion seems more like opportunistic filler than something her fans would actually want to hear. ~ Johnny Loftus
