Review

Record Collector (magazine) (p.94) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "[A]n assortment of 60s hit genres, each track delivered professionally with all the right vocal and instrumental inflections."

Title Note

As a songwriter/producer, Jerry Fuller had the magic touch; he wrote hits for everyone from Ricky Nelson ("Travelin' Man") to the Knickerbockers ("Lies") and Gary Puckett ("Young Girl"). This collection, however, focuses on Fuller's own recording career, which kicked off with a hit version of "Tennessee Waltz" done rockabilly style. Along the way, there's everything from the Byrds-esque folk-rock of the jingoistic, seemingly pro-Vietnam war "The Master Plan" to the soulful pop of "Guilty of Loving You," showing Fuller to be a wide-ranging stylist.
