He is under no illusions, however, about how the news will be greeted at home, having seen too many of his countrymen die mysteriously at the hands of the thuggish Russian security services, so he makes elaborate plans with Charles Ferguson, Sean Dillon, and the rest of the group known informally as the aPrime Ministeras private armya for his escape and concealment.
Itas a real coup for the West except for one thing: Kurbsky is still working for the Russians. The plan is to infiltrate British and American intelligence at the highest levels, and he has his own motivations for doing the most effective job possible. He does not care what he has to do or where he has to go . . . or who he has to kill.
Filled with suspense, driven by characters of complexity and passion, "A Darker Place" once again proves that, in the words of the "Associated Press," aWhen it comes to thriller writers, one name stands well above the crowdaJack Higgins.a

The elaborately planned defection of famous Russian writer and ex-paratrooper Alexander Kurbsky, coordinated by Charles Ferguson and Sean Dillon of the Prime Minister's private army, appears to be a victory for Western interests until it is revealed that Kurbsky is a secret agent out to infiltrate British and American intelligence. 275,000 first printing.

Annotation

Former IRA member Sean Dillon is back, this time helping the great Russian writer Alexander Kurbsky defect to England. Unfortunately, due to a little blackmail from President Putin, Kurbsky's loyalties secretly remain with his homeland. This means that Dillon just escorted a spy and a killer into the country, and now he will do anything to take him out.

very disappointed that there was not more of Sean Dillon as it was advertised as a "Sean Dillon" thriller, this character who looms large in previous books hardly mentioned, as I say most disappointed.
