Expanding on the first best-of collection (released in 1996), 2009's 25: THE GREATEST HITS is a definitive overview of Simply Red's 25-year career. At 17 tracks, the set includes nearly all the tunes featured on its predecessor, including the band's best- known hits "A New Flame," "Holding Back the Years," and "Fairground." 25 boasts additional tracks from the band's late `90s and early 2000s releases, including their classy cover of the soul classic "You Make Me Feel Brand New," as well as a new track, a reprise of the Isley Brothers' "Go Now." With the band's smooth, sophisticated sound and Mick Hucknall's stylishly soulful vocals on display throughout, 25 is the perfect summation of Simply Red's soul-pop sound.
