Formed in Moscow by producer Ivan Shapovolov, T.A.T.U. are a dance-pop duo specializing in catchy, club-ready tracks. With their debut single, "I've Lost My Mind," a song about a lesbian affair between two young girls, T.A.T.U. gained an international hit (thanks in large part to exposure on MTV), as well as garnering some sensationalist press. Despite speculation that the image put forth that the singers were romantically involved, it later came to light that Julia Volkova and Lena Katrina were not lovers. Their debut full length, 200 KM/H IN THE WRONG LANE, appeared in 2002. Its follow-up, DANGEROUS AND MOVING, arrived in 2005.
