Album Description

In 1993, Large Pro famously advised listeners to "buy the album when I drop it." Unfortunately, the album in question, THE LP, was shelved by MCA and hungry rap fans were forced to wait another nine years for the legendary producer's official solo debut. Blending his trademark loop-heavy production work with charismatic, positive-themed lyrics, 1ST CLASS was well worth the wait. Extra P blazes rhymes over 16 hot tracks, running through his untouchable resume on "Born to Ball" and passing the mic to longtime collaborators Nas ("Stay Chisel") and Akinyele as well as A-list MCs Q-Tip ("In the Sun") and Busta Rhymes ("On").
