Riz Maslen cut her teeth working with Future Sound of London, honing a talent for the dense and complex sound construction that surfaces in her music. Much has been made of Maslen's ascension into electronic music's loftiest fraternal ranks, often overshadowing the simple fact that her music has transcended electronica's gender bias by merit of its sheer beauty and richness. Maslen's tightly woven warp and woof fits atmospheric detail into every available space, intuitively filling the holes between beats with compelling sounds. To listen in is to be absorbed; to concentrate is to fall weightlessly through her music's center.

The luscious textures of "La Centinela," a mandala of sampled colors and geometric breakbeats, ripple and tease like mosaic inlay in a swimming pool. "CCTV" is a wind-borne kaleidoscope of falling leaves and heavy raindrops. Unseen dub currents stir the rhythms and ghost-horns of "Weeds," just as strange forces pluck at the strands of "Nincompoop" and "Beautiful Pool," sending shivers through hip-hop weaves. 15 LEVELS OF MAGNIFICATION is music in which to lose your senses.
