Originally conceived as an EP, 13 showcases singer/guitarist Brian Setzer's versatility. Although the 2006 album is rooted in the former Stray Cats frontman's signature rockabilly sound, it also features forays into hard rock, Delta blues, and more. Highlights of the record include the twangy "Don't Say You Love Me," a duet with Setzer's wife, Julie, and "Back Streets of Tokyo," a fiery six-string duel with Japanese pop star Hotei.
